DEATH UNDER ANAESTHETIC
COLLAPSE DURING OPERATION NAPIER HOSPITAL FATALITY Martin Skyrne Grosvenor, a young man, aged 37, who since November Ml had been a patient at the Napier Public Hospital, died at a quarter to ten yesterday morning while receiving an anaesthetic preparatory to his undergoing an operation. An inquest was to bo held before Mr. A. E. Bedford, J.P., and a jury of four at the Napier Magistrate’s Court at 2.30 p.m. to-day. The deceased was admitted to hospital on November 30 suffering from a fractured ankle. The accident happened through a load of hay on which he was riding toppling over, and he with it. Complications set in shortly after, and three days later it was found necessary to amputate the leg. At the time of the accident Mr Grosvenor was working for Mr M. Greenwood on his station at Kahuraniki, about 15 miles inland from Havelock North. He was a native of Hereford, and had been in this country for about seven years. His only relative was his nncle, Mr Robert Stead, who lives at 311 Lynchn Road East, Hastings.
