BOYS’ SWIMMING SPORTS SENIOR AND JUNIOR CHAMPIONS TWO RECORDS BRO-KEN The Hastings Boys’ High School annual swimming sports were held in the Maddisou Baths in glorious weather and before a large crowd of pupils, parents and friends. A long programme of events was got off, and the many spectators did not experience a dull moment. The competitions, not only for the individual championships hut also for the house championship, were extremely keen, as was evidenced by the fact that at the end of the day’s swimming two houses —Green and Purple—had tied with 54 points each. However, three other events had still to be decided, and the ultimate result was: Green House (75 points) 1, Purple House (68 points) 2, Gold House (28 points) 3, Blue House (15 points) 4,

The school championship was won by 1 H. 0. Christie, with 14 points, L. 3 Vesty being a very close runner-up with 1 13 points. Junior championship . honours fell to M. Lord with 18 points, 3 I). O’Neill being second with 14 points. Two school records were broken and . one was equalled, hi the 220 yards 3 school championship the winners of the first, second and third places all broke . F.
