The Commissioner for Napier (Mr .1. S. Barton) is well pleased with the response made by Napier ratepayers, who since the beginning of the financial year had up till February 28 contributed over £64.000 to the borough coffers. It, should be pointed out that tho whole of this sum did not relate entirely to rates due last year, but in a number of instances to rates overdue from previous years.
