A GIFT PARTY
FOR A BRIDE. Ou Wednesday evening last a very enjoyable “gift” party was given in honour of Miss N. McKay, whose marriage to Mr Harrison takes place shortly. Mrs Isaacson, of Havelock North, kindly lent her home for the occasion, and about forty guests were present. Games, vocal solos, dancing and community singing were kept going with a swing in the spacious living room which had been adorned for the occasion with gay streamers and flowers.
After a delicious supper had been handed round, Miss Nan McKay, who wore a pretty blue frock, opened her many parcels, and revealed a most useful collection of presents for her future home. Mr Harrison, in a very good speech, thanked all those who had organised this happy function and expressed the gratitude of Miss McKay and himself for the many useful presents. Mrs Isaacson and Mrs Isaacson junr., Mrs Nikera, Misses Isaac, Sutherland (3), Bfigh, Middle, Linden, and Tuohy were among the many guests.
