WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
PUKETAPU BRANCH. The fourth annual meeting of the Puketapu branch of the Women’s Institute was held in the hall, a good attendance of members being present. The birthday cake, which was presented by Mrs E. Boyd, was cut by the vice-president, Mrs R. Donald, in the absence of the retiring president, Mrs J. Alexander. A now committee was formed and Mrs E. Boyd was elected president. A few presentations were made during the afternoon. Mrs Boyd, the retiring secretary, whose marriage has recently taken- place, was presented by fellow members with a beautiful* jardiniere in appreciation of her work during the past, year, and also as a wedding gift. The points prize for the year was won by Mrs J. Janies and Mrs Boyd. Afternoon tea was provided by the institute committee, and was much appreciated. A very enjoyable afternoon concluded with the institute song and the National Anthem.
