The last weekly meeting of the Napier and District Centralised Relief Workers’ Association was fully attended by members of the executive, who were confronted with a large volume of business. The managing-secretary reported on the extension of the coupon system. The value of this scheme to the members at Bay View, Taradale and Greenmeadows is instanced by the fact that arrangements have been made with grocers, bakers, and butchers in tho above districts. The membership of the association shows an increase of 20 and the issue of coupons to members showed an exceptional increase on the issue for the first week. Through the resignation of Mr J. Moores, who as removed to Auckland, Mr J. Kirne, of Taradale, was appointed to the executive. At the close of the meeting, the executive waited upon Mr H. W. Thompson, managing-director of Messrs ThompsonPayne Picture Co. The president of the association, Mr J. H. McDonald, in introducing the deputation, explained the value of the work being done for the families of relief workers, and solicited the help of Mr Thompson in the good work being done. Mr Thompson assured the deputation that he was ever ready to help any deserving cause, and expressed his willingness to accede to the request of the deputation by putting ■>n a Sunday picture programme at, an early date.
