PIGEON FLYING

N.Z. FEDERATION RACE. NAPIER SUCCESSFUL. The New Zealand Homing Pigeon Federation held a race for the Patterson Cup some days ago, 100 n aminations being received and 98 accepting. Competitors representing the Dannevirke, Petone, Napier, Wanganui, Wellington, Dunedin, Oamaru, and Masterton clubs took part. Many of the birds had to face a head wind, but apparently the Napier and Masterton birds were more fortunate in this respect than the others, for the whole of the first eight birds in the race belonged to members of the Napier Club, the next three to finish being from Masterton.

The collection of results from each centre, and the calculation of the Velocities has only just been completed. Tho result of the race was:—H. B. Trubshoo’s Red Streak, I; J. E. N.
