FALSE BRANDS
ON ENGLISH CLOTH. CONVICTIONS IN AUSTRIA. (United Press Association—By Ca>'leCopyright.) (Received 19, 10.30 a.m.) Vienna, Dec. 18. A curious fraud was revealed by the arrest of eight persons on suspicion of being concerned in the sale to AustriaHungary and Czecho-Slovakia of cloth for men’s suits falsely branded "Genuine English.” Thousands of pounds profits were made by the frauds, which were facilitated by the popularity of English textiles in Austria.
