MORTGAGE ADJUSTMENTS
TRIBUTE TO COMMISSION’S WORK GIVING GREAT SATISFACTION. (From Our Special Parliameneary Repotrer.) Parliament Buildings, November 1. The chairmen of the various mortgage adjustment commissions recently met in Wellington to consider the operation of the Act. Many questions were discussed and unanimity in regard to procedure reached. In discussing the matter to-day, the Minister of Justice, the Hon. J. G. Cobbe, paid a tribute to the work which was being done by the commissions. In the vast majority of cases, he said, agreements were being reached without reference to the courts. In his opinion the commissions were giving great satisfaction. The members were showing remarkable enthusiasm for their work, and were giving long hours to the problems under review.
