WAIPUKURAU
NEWS AND NOTES. (Special Representative.) Heavy rain on Saturday afternoon greatly interfered with all outdoor pastimes. An alarm qf fire was given in Waipukurau yesterday afternoon but fortunately the services of the brigade were not required, the reason for the call being a lighted towel which, however, was quickly put out by a bucket of water. The Waipukurau Town Band rendered a varied programme of musical items in the Municipal Theatre last evening, under the conductorship of Mr E. Malkin, the concert being very much enjoyed by a large audience.
