MOTORISTS’ AFFAIRS

H.B. AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL general meeting. The annual general meeting of the Hawke’s Bav Automobile Association was held in Napier yesterday afternoon, Mr J. H. Edmundson presiding over a large attendance. In moving the adoption of ths annual report and balance sheet, Mr Edmundson stated that on the year’s working the Association was <63 to the bad, but that, with an increased membership this year, ha hoped the debit would be wiped out. Tho report and balance sheet were adopted. Fourteen n-w members were elected, bringing the present membership up to 873. The election of officers resulted as follows:— President, Mr ’. H, Edmundson; vice-presidents, Dr W. D. FitsGerald and Mr T. Parker; executive committee, Messrs H. Anderson, H. L. Benjamin, B. B. Creagh, A. Dysart, J. T. Fenwick, J. Fairclougb, W. Forsyth, E C. Hall, H. B. Horsnell, R. P. Kay, C. LouiSson, G. McCormick, R. Lean. A. E. Renouf, M. S. Spence, 1.. L. Thomas, E. A. Williams, J. J. K I in;) auditors, Messrs Harvey and Lawn; treasurer, Mr Hoadle;. A liittir was received from the North Island (N.Z.) Motor Union Stating that, it had been decided to oppose legislation restricting the speed limit for motorists to 40 miles per hour.—lt was decided that the Hawke’s Bay Automobile Association should also oppose the suggested restriction,
