GREYMOUTH EXPLOSION
SAID TO BE A “JOKE.” By Telegraph—Press Association. Greymouth, Oct. 29. Inquiries this morning into last evening’s explosion show that it took place in the Borough Council’s open shed, which is used for storing drays and is over 100 yards from the police station. The explosive is believed to have been placed in the dray, the bottom being blown out. The shed was undamaged and a horse in the shed was also uninjured. District opinion is that the explosion was intended as a joke or perhaps to influence the police. (See Page 8 for earlier message).
