CHURCH SERVICES
At St. Matthew’s Church; Hastings, to-morrow, there will be a service of the Holy Communion at 8 a.m., and matins and sermon will be at 11 a.m. Evening services will be held at 7 p.m. at St. Matthew’s, St. Barnabas’, Parkvale, and at Mahora School. Visiting ministers will conduct the services in St. Andrew’s Church, Hastings, to-morrow, the Bev. A. H. Scrivin being the preacher for the morning service, and the Bev. B. McCully, 8.A., occupying the pulpit in the evening. The evening service will be relayed to St. John’s Hall as usual. The services in the Havelock North Presbyterian Church will be conducted by the Bev. B. Waugh—Havelock in the morning and evening, and Clive in the afternoon. The Hastings Methodist Sunday school anniversary will be celebrated to-morrow at the Hastings Methodist Church, at 11 a.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m. The Bev. D. J. A. Shaw will be the special preacher at the morning service, and the Bev. A. H. Scrivin at the afternoon and evening services. There will be a large combined choir, and the singing of the scholars will be a special feature at all services. This is the redletter day of the year for the children, and a hearty invitation is extended to all to worship with them. On Friday, November 4, the anniversary scholars’ tea and concert will be held in the Methodist Hall. The Rev. C. 8. Matthews, from Palmerston North, will be the preacher at the Hastings Baptist Church, Karamu road south, to-morrow. Mr Matthews will preach both morning and evening and also at Pukahu in the afternoon at 2.30. The Junior and Intermediate Endeavour Societies will meet at 10 a.m. and the Sunday school and Bible classes at 2.30 p.m. There will be a song service in the evening, commencing at 6.45, conducted by Mi J. Bewley. Strangers and visiton heartily invited. Mr Matthews wil speak to the Endeavourers at 10 a.m Mr. Barham will be the speaker al the Nelson Street Hall, Hastings, or Sunday evening. The subject will be: •'The Signs ot the Rapture.’ ’ The address in the United Hall.
