Dartmoor Bridge. ( The suggestion that a barricade should be erected at the approach to the Dartmoor bridge, which is at present closed to traffic on account of its partial collapse, was made by Mr T. Parker at the annual general meeting of tho Hawke’s Bay Automobile Association held yesterday afternoon. It was decided to refer the matter to the Hawke’s Bay County Council. Mr Parker stated that he was in the vicinity of the bridge one dark evening when a party of Maoris approached in a car the lights of which wore dim. He expressed the view that if ho had not stopped the car and told the Maoris that the bridge was closed to traffic the vehicle would have dropped about 50 feet into the river. “My suggestion is that a wooden barricade should be erected across the road, preventing motorists from trying to cross the bridge instead of taking the deviat>n,“ , stated Mr Parker.
