WEDDINGS

O’KANE—RICHARDS. St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Waipukurau, was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Wednesday afternoon when Winifred Olive, daughter of Mr and Mrs J. V. Richards, was married to J. E. O’Kane, of Kohuratahi, son of the late Mr O’Kane and Mrs Downck, of Napier. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. A. C. McLean, M.A. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was gowned in lemon georgette made with a long close fitting bodice and fully flared skirt, the sleeves being tight fitting from the elbow. A hat of white silk straw was worn and she carried a sheaf of arum lilies. The bride was attended by Miss Isla M. Caskie, who wore a frock of twotone blue and floral georgette, with coattee to match, with which was worn a large picture hat of blue straw and bouquet to tone with her frock. Mr J. Doran, of Napier, carried out the duties of best man. Following the ceremony the guests were entertained at the Kosy Tea Rooms where tb usual toasts we.u honoured. Mrs Richards who received the guests was gowned in a salmon pink costume and hat to tone. Mrs Dowrick, mother of the bridegroom. was wearing a model frock of navy crepe de chine, relieved with beige. The presents were numerous and included cheques. The bride travelled m a frock of navy marocain, trimmed with beige; hat and coat to tone Their future home will be in Kohuratahi, Taranaki.
