ENSILAGE-MAKING
LARGE QUANTITIES BEING CONSERVED. Large quantities of ensilage have already been conserved in this district. A Mangateretere farmer informed the writer that he had a silo containing 100 tons. Many farmers are conserving ensilage this season for the first time, and they would be well odviseed to make careful inquiries as to the most economical, method of handling the material. There is a vast difference in the cost of various methods. If a proper system is not adopted the work is extremely arduous, but this can be avoided by. studying the tnethods of others.
