ABERDEEN ANGUS SALE. DANNEVIRKE PRICES. TM annual tale of the New Zealand Aberdeen Angu* Cattle Breeders’ Asebeiation was held at Dannevirke on Tuesday and was well attended. The cattle eame forward in splendid condition, especially the Tautane bulls of Messrs Herrick Bros. Previous to the commencement of the sale, a judging competition was held Kid resulted as follows:— Group A: Mr J. E. Hewitt’s (Mangamaire) Bangatira II of Mangamaire, calved September 13, 1930, 1; Estate of A. S. G. Carlyon’s (Gwavas, Tikikino) Burotus of Gwavas, calved January 26, 1931, 2; Herrick Bros. (Tautane, Herbertville) Qualatum 3rd of Tautane, salved September 28, 1931, 3. Wright, Stephenson and Co.’s 10guinea challenge eup, for best group of three bulls in group A: J. E. Hewitt (Mangamaire). Previous winners: In 1930, Estate A. S. G. Carlyon (Gwavas, Tikokino); 1931, J. E. Hewitt (Mangamaire). Compared with previous years the sale was quiet, there being a number of passings. Prices were lower than last year, but taking into consideration the present financial and economic situation, could be considered quite satisfactory. The highest price of the day was obtained for the second prise bull, Eurotus of Gwavas, from the Carlyon estate, Tikokino, which brought 130 guineas. The first prize animal Bangatira n. of Mangamaire, was sold for 42J guineas, ano the third prize bull, Qulktum 3rd of Tautane, Herbertville, Was passed in at 30 guineas.
