Miss Irene Chambers, of Mokepeka, is arriving by the Rangitiki from England after her holiday abroad. Mrs Wilde will go from Hawke’s Bay to Auckland to meet her sister on her return. The Ven. Archdeacon and Mrs Maclean, of Havelock North, are staying in Napier for a fortnight during the session of Synod. • • • Mr and Mrs T. H. Bowie, of Auckland, who were once well known residents of Hastings, are staying at the Pacific Hotel. * • * Mrs Goring, who is well known in Hawke’s Bay, has returned from England, and is staying at Hillsbrook, Havelock North. • • • Mr and Mrs P. H. Burr, of Hastings, are staying at Havelock North for a fortnight as the guest of Mrs K. E. Maclean, Mrs Burr’s sister. • • • Mrs Kelsey, who has been staying in Havelock North, has returned to ner home in Kelbourn, Wellington. Miss Margaret Fraser, of New Plymouth, has been visiting Miss Ethel Crompton Smith and her niece, Nancy, at Havelock North. Mrs Lionel Nelson is leaving for Wellington this week after a visit to her parents, Mr and Mrs Mason Chambers, Tauroa, Havelock North. Mrs Chambers gave a musical party for her daughter last Saturday, and Mrs F. K. Faulkner invited a few friends to bridge in Mrs Nelson’s honour on Monday last. • ♦ • On Tuesday, October 11, a very pleasant evening was spent with Mr and Mrs L. P. Hansen, of Clive, when they entertained relatives and friends on the occasion of their golden wedding.
