Business was extraordinarily brisk and public enthusiasm particularly evident at Westerman’s, Hastings, this morning, when they opened their special clearance sale of showroom apparel and millinery from the assigned estate of Hayward’s Ltd., Lambton Quay, Wellington. The show windows were chock full of bargains of outstanding merit and the special displays over night had created abounding public interest, so that hundreds of shoppers were abroad early today to procure some portion of the prizes on display. The assigned stock of Hayward’s Ltd. was purchased by Messrs Westerman and Co. for a few shillings only in the £, and they have determined to pass on to the public of this , district the wonderful price concessions invalved in this meritorious purchase of up-to-date fashion goods.
