A NEW APPLE
GROWN IN A FRIMLEY ORCHARD ORCH ARDISTS INTERESTED. At the recent provincial conference of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers’ Federation, an important announcement was made in connection with a highly coloured sport of the Delicious apple. ’Hie fruit was located some years ago in the orchard of Mr V. Law, Frimley, and from the branch bearing the fruit,' other trees were worked and all produced fruit which was true to type, the colour being remarkably deep and full. Those who have seen the genuine American “Richared” variety declare that Mr Law’s apple has a much better colour. A group of local growers has purchased this apple in order to give local growers prior rights to secure grafting wood, which should he available in fairly large quantities for the 1933 grafting season. Specimens of the apple were shown at the conference, ail'd growers were extremely interested and liberal in their praist.
