PROVISION IN AUSTRALIA. P. Neale, secretary of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, who returned to Auckland on Tuesday. 'Dr. Neale, rfho read a paper before the economics and statistical section of the Association for the Advancement of Science, said one of the most interesting papers read at the meeting was on the subject of teaching economics in schools. The general feeling, was that the subject was a suitable one to be included at least as an optional one in university entrance examinations, and that, as only a proportion of secondary school students passed on to tho university, any secondary school course in economies should bo complete in itself.
