WOMAN’S ACTION AGAINST FIRM. COSTS AGAINST PLAINTIFF. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Aug. 31. Expressing the opinion that the defendants acted throughout reasonably and within their legal rights, Mr E. Page, S.M., gave reserved judgment for James Smith Ltd. in the action of Doris N. Paris, who ctaitned £l5O as a result of an incident in the firm’s shop on December 23, whin a shopwalker suspected her of shoplifting. Costs, £J 10/-, were awarded against the plaintiff Mrs Pans alleged that the defendant’s shopwalker assaulted her by holding her by the arm as she walked back to the office with him; that be fafeely imprisoned her by detaining her in the office against her will, and that he wrongfully took and detained her goods.
