HAWKE’S BAY UNEMPLOYED
THIS WEEK’S FIGURES. GENERAL DECREASES SHOWN. There are 65 less unemployed men in Napier this week than there were last, 15 at Hastings and 10 in the country districts. In Napier there were 1162 registereo last week, against 1097 this week, of which 1013 were placed on the scheme. Of the 1097 men, 780 were with dependents and fit for heavy work, 198 were without dependents and fit for heavy work, 60 were with dependents and fit for light work and 59 were without dependents and fit for light work. A total of 847 men were placed on the scheme at Hastings, where the numbers last week were 1023 and this week 1008. In the country districts there were 716 men placed on the scheme, while there were 859 «registered last week and 849 this week.
