MEETING OF SCHOOL COMMITTEE BUSINESS OF THE MONTH. From Our Own Correspondent. The monthly meeting of the Havelock North School Committee was held in the schoolroom last evening. Air J. D. Heenan presided over Messrs W. Marven, A. Webb W. Afillar, H. Coombe, E. Leicester, F. Fergusson, J B. Duke and N. Rigby (headmaster) Tho headmaster reported that the attendance had steadily declined during the past month on account of influenza colds The average attendance for the last tour weeks was 206, and the roll stood at 234. Ono hundred and fifty children were receiving hot cocoa during the lunch hour at a nominal charge of threepence per week per head, or Gd for two or more in a family.—The report was adopted. The visiting committee reported having made an inspection of the school and found everything in good repair. The rooms were well heated and the pupils were happy in their work. Messrs Afillar and Coombe were appointed visiting committee for the ensluig month.
