OPENING TO-DAY. THE TIMES OF STARTING.

The eyes of the sporting world will be focussed on Los Angeles to-day, when the Tenth Olympiad will officially commence with the opening ceremony at 2.30 p.m., followed at 6 p.m. by the weightlifting. New Zealand interest in the Ganjes will commence tho following daw,, when, at 3 p.m., the first round of tj®, jOO metres will be held, and in which Alan Elliott, the New Zealand »pr®. champion, will be a competitor.
