WHEAT DUTIES TO REMAIN
STATEMENT BY MR. FORBES NO ACTION FOR REMOVAL Wellington, July 28. No action will be taken by the Government to remove the present duties on wheat imports, according to a statement by the Prime Minister (the Rt Hon G W. Forbes) to-day in discussing the proposed legislation for next session, which will probably open in about the second week m September. The Prime Minister said that th* Government had no intention of interfering with the present wheat dutie*. The present level of duties would remain.
