CHURCH SERVICES

At St. Matthew’s Church, Hastings, ou Sunday there will be services of the Holy Communion at 8 a.m. and also at 9.30 a.m., with hymns and short address. Mattins and sermon will be at 11 a.m., Holy Baptism at 3 p.m., and Evensong and sermon at 7 p.m.; collect for the 7th Sunday after Trinity. “Lord of all Power and Might” will be sung as an anthem by the choir. Evensong will be taken at St. Barnabas’ Mission Hall, Parkvale, by the vicar.

The services in the Havelock North Presbyterian Church will be conducted by the Rev. R. Waugh—morning and evAing at Havelock, and afternoon at Clive.

The services at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Market street, Hastings, will be conducted by the Rev. D. J. A. Shaw, morning and evening. 11 a.m.: Anthem, “If Ye Love Me” (Simper). 7 p.m.: Anthem, “Saviour Breaths an Evening Blessing” (Keighley). Evening service relayed to St. John’s Hall, Mahora.

Divine Service will be conducted tomorrow at the Hastings Methodist Church, Hastings street, at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. At the morning service the Rev. A. H. Scriven will be the preacher, and his subject will be “The Voice of Conscience.” The anthem will be “Consider the Lilies of the Field.” In the evening the preacher will be the Rev. F. A. Crawshaw, who is the New Zealand secretary for the Mission to Lepers. The anthem will be “The Lord is My Shepherd.” At 2.30 the Sunday School and Bible Classes will meet.

The Rev. E. Nicholls will preach tomorrow evening in the Hastings Baptist Chureh, Karamu road. The sermon subject is entitled “The Victory of Defeat” or “The Crippling That Crowns.” The preacher in the morning will be the Rev. F. A. Crawshaw (secretary for New Zealand to the Mission to Lepers). Communion service to follow. On Tuesday evening at 7.30 p.m. Mr. Crawshaw will give a lantern lecture on “The Mission to Lepers.” This lecture contains 100 new slides. Come and hear how leprosy is curable. An offering will be taken up for the work.

“Is God’s Clock About to Tick?” is the subject to be dealt with by Mr. W. J. Barham in the Nelson Street Hall on Sunday evening at 7 o’clock. This subject will be tifken in the light of the near return of Christ and also of ihe present-dav movements of the Jews.
