“A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM”
BY HASTINGS HIGH SCHOOL. NEXT MONDAY AND TUESDAY. An ambitious performance will be given in the Hastings Municipal Theatre on Monday and Tuesday next, when the Hastings High School students will present “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” with the Mendelssohn songs, orchestral numbers and the fairy ballets. Much thought and preparation has been given to this production, and it is confidently expected that a most generous response will be given not only from Hastings residents, but also from many living far out. Patrons are particularly asked to note the time of starting the performance, and to be in good time to secure their seats, so as not to interfere with the comfort of the majority. A handsome stage draped setting has been made specially for this occasion, as it was impossible to secure suitable scenery, and this, taken in conjunction with some handsome stage properties which have been made by the wood-working classes, w :, l make an effective background tor fne performers’ efforts. The scheme of costuming is very effective, and the lighting effects are also most handsome. It is advisable to secure seats at once at Fail’s.
