SUNKEN SUBMARINE FOUND NO EESPONSE TO SIGNALS. DIFFICULTY OF SALVAGE WORK. (United Press Association—By CableCopyright.) (Received 9, 11.55 a.m.) Cherbourg, July 9. The Promothee was located at a depth of 230 feet by means of a buoy which was automatically released when the submarine sank and carried a telephone from the interior of the hull to the surface. There was no response to calls. The position renders salvage very difficult. A sister ship of the Artiglio, the Rostro, is rushing to assist.
