A newepmer to the Trentham tracks is a yearling bay gelding by Lord Quex Irom the Austrnliau-bred Rossendale mare Polonaise, thus a half-brother to Gay Court. He is a neatly-moulded youngster, ami has been ridden about in Stokes A alley fur some time. His trainer, W. J. Wood, who comes from England is also a newcomer in the game, having applied for a license only recently, and the youngster is the first horse he has had in his hands in tho Dominion. He is training him for Mr E. G. EarJ, of Johnsonville, who purchased him at the January yearling sales for 60 guineas.
