TRAGIC FATE

WOMAN’S LONELY DEATH.

Rotorua, Juno 30.

Death in a lonely house on the shores of Lake Roto Ehu overtook Muriel Ida Angell, a married woman, some time p.m. on Wednesday evening. Her between 8.30 a.m. on Saturday and 5.30 little daughter, aged 2| years, was found asleep beside her when her husband made the tragic discovery on Wednesday evening. The child was well but evidently had been crying and had not been able to obtain food. She was too young to be able to tell the sad tale of the lonely death which had overtaken her unfortunate mother.

When discovered by her husband Mrs. Angell was lying upon the bed fully dressed. The body disclosed no signs of violence. The husband had left home at 8.30 o’clock on Saturday morning and did not return till after dark on Wednesday. The house is situated in a very lonely spot on the shores of Lake Roto Ehu. The nearest neighbour is three miles away, which probably accounts for the death remaining undiscovered. The police are investigating.
