HAWKE’S BAY JOCKEY CLUB

WINTER MEETING ON SATURDAY SPLENDID ACCEPTANCES. The officials of the H.B. Jockey Club must feel highly elated at the splendid acceptances received last evening for the winter meeting to be held on Saturday. Very few horses have dropped out, and the fields are of good size. The H.B. Steeplechase promises to be a great contest, with 11 horses standing their ground. The H.B. Hurdles, too, have drawn a field of classy jumpers, and the betting should take a wide range. In the hack events the fields are large, with a big number of outside entrants.

There is every reason to hope that the club will have a very successful meeting on Saturday. A review of the fields will appear in to-morrow’s issue.

HAWKE’S BAY HUNT CLUB. ANNUAL RACE MEETING. The Hawke’s Bay Hunt Club will hold its annual race meeting on the Hastings racecourse on Saturday, July 1). Moss, on Friday, June 24, at 8 p.m. Weights will appear an Wednesday, June 29, and acceptances will close on Wednesday, July 6,
