STRIKE PROPOSAL REJECTED
KAITANGATA MINERS’ BALLOT . OUTPUT VERY SATISFACTORY Dunedin, June 14. A ballot held to-day by the Kaitangata miners decided against the proposal to strike in sympathy with other miners. Of 205 votes cast, 116 were against th? proposal to strike and 89 in favour. The men are working under an agreement which Ims approximately a year to run. It was stated by the chairman of directors, Mr McSkimming, that there had never been any suggestion of trouble between the men and the owners. Heavy orders for the coal were being received, and the output was entirely satisfactory. '
