EXCHANGE POOL

REVOKING OF REGULATIONS ANNOUNCEMENT BY MR. FORBES. BANKS TO CARRY ON. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, June 15. The Order-in-Council that established the exchange pool regulations will be revoked at the end of the present month. This announcement was made by the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes last night. Ho said that when he met the deputation of exporters in May he promised that if they played the game and did not hold up shipments the Order-in-Council would be revoked. He had been assured that exporters were carrying out those terms and there had been no withholding of shipments on their part. There would bo no interference by the Government with exchange rates; that matter would be left to the banks.
