AFFAIRS OF D. B. KENT. DEFICIENCY OF £123. The papers in bankruptcy filed with the Official Assignee at Napier by Douglas Barrington Kent, a solicitor, of Waipukurau, show an estimated deficiency of £7B 18/2. A meeting of creditors of Harry William Tapson, a motion picture operator, of Taradale, was held at the Napier Courthouse this morning, presided over by the Official Assignee, Mr G. G. Chisholm. After the bankrupt had explained his financial position, the meeting was adjourned, to give him an opportunity to sell electrical goods in his possession.

The papers filed by the bankrupt showed an estimated deficiency of £22 5s Bd. His debts totalled £165 14s 5d and his assets £143 8s 9d.

Questioned by counsel representing Universal Films, Ltd., bankrupt said that he had no money owing to him othe r than a judgment debt for £lO4 8s 9d. He did a job for a man named Coates but did not look for payment as he bankrupt, did the work as a friendly gesture. His wife had no separate property of her own, nor any money in the bank. He was renting a house at Taradale, on which £27 10s was owing as rent.

The position as stated by the Official Assignee was that the judgment debt, had yet to bo collected and the goods and stock held by bankrupt sold.
