A SOCIAL will be held in the Patangata Hall in the evening, when prizes will be distributed. Admission 5s or by ticket. RULES AND CONDITIONS. 1. The area to be ploughed will ba allotted by the Stewards. Hors* Ploughing to commence at 9.30 a.m. sharp, Tractors at 10.30 a.m., ami atog at 3 p.m. All Competitors shall stop half an hour for lunch. 2. Class A. Ground shares allowed with lift as defined in Rule 3. 3. The matches are for the improvement of home ploughing. Competitors will be allowed to have cut on their skeiths. No Competitor to have more than Ijin. cut on his shares. All ploughs will be examined by a Judge appointed, and the above Rulo will be strictly adhered to. 4. No assistance will be allowed Competitors, except in the erection and removal of poles. 5. Every Competitor shall plough not less than five inches deep, and 9in. wide. 6. All teams shall start and stop at given signal. 7. Every competitor shall plough the lot he draws. 8. Competitors shall strike from peg to peg, bearing their number, gather three rounds, and then split as directed. 9. No Competitor shall stop Ins neighbour fo ra longer time than ven minutes. Anything in excess of Jie said lime shall bo deducted from the time of the ploughman causing the delay, and given to the benefit of the ploughman delayed, and any Competitor holding up another Competitor for more than half an hour will be disqualified. 10. Protests as to delay shall be made to the Steward at the time the delay is caused, otherwise they will not be allowed. 11. Either three or four horses shall constitute a team. 12. Competitors shall strike out with their full team, but the finish shall be optional as to the number of horses used. 13. Competitors, before starting, shall receive a ticket with their number on it, and on completion of their land the Steward in charge shall mark the time finished and collect the ticket for the Judges. 14. The decision of the Judges shall be final and cannot be upset in any Court of Law. 15. No Competitor shall be allowed on his land after finishing until the completion of the judging. 16. The ploughing shall be judged on points, and the scale of points shall be drawn up by the Farmers’ Union Ploughing Match Committee, The points gainej by placed men will be printed in results, and the points gamed by all Competitors be also available. 17. Any details not provided for in the Rules, and any dispute arising therefrom, or in connection with the interpretation of the Rules, shall be referred to the Ground Committee, whose decision shall be final. 18. The Committee reserves the right to alter or rescind any of the above Rules, or to alter the date of the matches should occasion arise. 19. All protests or objections shall bo made in writing, accompanied bv a deposit of ICs and lodged with I'.e Secretary within fifteen minutes of the completion of the judging and the announcement of the Judge’s decision.
