HASTINGS WOMEN’S CLUB

BRIDGE CIRCLE. Tabte day for the members of the Bridge Circle at the Women’s Club proved a most enjoyable meeting. The room looked bright with bowls of autumn leaves and berries. Mrs Bishop, circle leader, who had been away in Wanganui for three weeks, had returned and organised the afternoon. Everyone spent a very pleasant time, the afternoon tea interval being sociable, all enjoying a little conversation. Those present were: Mesdames H. M. Bishop (circle leader), Riddell, A. J. Foot, Cuming, Stratton, Ricketts, Taylor, DarvelU, Hart, Marshall, Ebbett, Rees-Davies, Pitcaithly, Lawlor, Bates, Palmer, Rivers, Budd, J. Simson, Bull (Napier), Petrie, Roulston, O’Meara, j. Foot, Giorgi, Miller, Krogh, Cunningham, G. Davies, Shand, Beamish, Kessell, Garnett, Bone, A. Aitken and Johnson; Misses Lewis, Fitzßoy, Heslop and Evans. AU REVOIR TO A MEMBER. On Tuesday afternoon members of the committee of the Women's Club held their usual meeting after which all assembled in the larger room to bid au revoir to one of the committee, Mrs Gill, who leaves before long on an extended visit to relatives in England. Mrs E. C. Clarkson gave Mrs Gill a pretty littl'e posy of flowers. Tho gathering was quite informal and Mrs Gill received many wishes for bon voyage.
