The Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, in the .Supreme Court at Wellington to-day, allowed the appeal of William James Baker, who was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment for the theft of a glass mug during the street disturbance on May 10. and quashed the conviction. His Honour inid there was no evidence that any Mich mug was stolen from any of the places looted.—Press Association.
