H.B. ASSOCIATION MEETINC. MANY ITEMS DISCUSSED. The usual weekly, meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Hockey Association was held last evening, Mr J. Le Comte presiding over the following delegates:— Messrs R. Surgenor, AV. Nikera, B. Wall. R. Tutaki, A. Doree, and the. secretary (Mr Fitzniaurice). The Y.M.P. Hockey Club were granted permission to run a tournament on July 25, 26 and 27, in accordance with their annual procedure. Those clubs which are interested in the welfare of junior hockey are asked to forward the names of any prospective players to the secretary at their earliest convenience, and those who have any old sticks are asked to send them along and help the players.

The Whakatu Club wrote wanting to enter a B team in the competition.—lt was decided to grant them entry in the next round, or perhaps before, if a further ground could be arranged for REPRESENTATIVE GAMES The secretary was instructed to write to the following associations, inviting them to play return ladies’ matches on suitable dates: Horowhenua, Manawatu, Wanganui and Otaki. All clubs are asked to note that early teams to play will put out the flags, and late teams take them in. These flags are housed in the kiosk. All clubs are asked to note that the queen carnival closes sharp at 5 p.m on Monday, June 20, and all funds should be handed in on or before that time. The association trusts that all those clubs who received books will put their best efforts forward in an endeavour to make the carnival a success. It is also to their own inetrest, as well as the association’s, that they make it a success, if they hope to get good service and equipment to play their matches. Clubs are also reminded that their affiliation fees to the sub-association are now due and payable to Mr Stitt, c/o Roachs, or the secretary. THIS WEEK’S GAMES. The draw for this week is as follows: — Thursday; United White v. Diamond R, No. 1 ground, 2.45; United Blue v. United Gold, No. 2 ground, 2.45; Waimarama v. Karori, No. 3 ground. 2.45.
