CONVERT FROM PROHIBITION
LEADING U.S. INDUSTRIALIST. New York, June 11. Mr Alfred Sloan, president of the General Motor Corporation, one of tho country’s leading industrialists, announced his conversion to the belief that the best road to temperance lies in the repeal of the Eighteenth Amendment. Sloan, who. with Mr Ford, is often cited as an outstanding business leader who lias felt that the country’s industrial efficiency has been increased by prohibition, to-day declared that lawlessness had developed as a result of prohibition. “It has created a general condition far more damaging to the present or future stability of the country than any possible benefits that would otherwise be enjoyed ”
