Tn the Supreme Court at Greymouth, Mr. Justice Adams sentenced Harry Newton Osmcrs, who had pleaded guilty to stealing £4l 10/8 from various departments when in the State Forestry Service nt Hokitika, to come up for sentence if culled upon within twelve months and pay the costs of the prosecution, £1 I/-. The judge said he thought the unusual leniency was justified in the present instance owing to the prisoner’s previous good character and the fact that full restitution had been made. —Press Assn.
