WAIPAWA
(Own Correspondent). A very pleasant function took place last Friday evening at St. Peter’s Hall when Miss Olive Rose was tho guest of honour at a kitchen tea organised by her friends on tho eve of her forthcoming marriage. Dancing was indulged in by the young people while cards were played by non-dancers. After supper the Rev. W. T. Drake in a happy little speech on behalf of those present wished the young couple all happiness. Mr. Egglestone on behalf of the ladies’ committee thanked all for coming and making the evening such a success. Numerous presents were then laid out which all testified to the popularity of Miss Rose. The ladies’ prize at the card playing was won by Miss M. Fraser and the gentlemen’s by Mr. McSweeney. The singing of “For They Are Jolly Good Fellows” and the. National Anthem brought a pleasant evening to a close.
