CHILEAN BONDS
AFFECTED BY REVOLUTION, LIABILITIES NOT MET. Eugby, June 6. On the news of the Chilean revolu. tion being received Chilean bonds, which heavily slumped on the suspension of debt payments from the high level touched last year, suffered a further drop on the London exchange. In the House of Commons to-day the Foreign Secretary, replying to a question, said that the Chilean Government had made no recent progress towards meeting its liabilities in respect to loans borrowed from British investors. He added that tho Foreign Office was in close touch with the Council of Foreign Bondholders which was set up as a special committee to deal with the matter.
