CONFERENCE IN IRELAND
BRITISH MEMBERS ARRIVE. London, June 7. Mr Thomas before leaving Euston said: “I am going to Ireland full of hope. I am clearly conscious of my responsibilities.’’ Mr Cosgrave, in an interview, said: “It appears that Mr De Valera has adopted a policy of opposition. We all along recommended negotiation.’’ “The Daily Telegraph” says that the British Government is anxious that the Free State should remain within the British commonwealth and is prepared to embark on negotiations in n friendly spirit.
ARRIVAL AT DUBLIN. Dublin, June 7. Mr Thomas and Lord Halisham have arrived for the conference, which begins in the forenoon. General satis, faction is expressed at the visit as it is many years since a member of tho British Cabinet has officially come to Dublin. “The mountain coming to Mahomet and Mahomet later going to the mountain’’ aptly expresses the Free Stato viewpoint.
