AMERICA’S INTERNAL DEBT

The American Government’s indebtedness in state, county and city is now estimated at between thirty-five and forty billion dollars, which is four times the country’s total war debt, representing a per capita indebtedness of slightly over 300 dollars. The Federal public debt to-day exceeds eighteen billion dollars, an increase of nearly 2500 million dollars during the last eighteen months.
