THREE LEVIES NEXT MONTH. INCOME AND UNEMPLOYMENT. Three taxation levies, one on income and two for unemployment relief, will become payable next month. Income tax will be payable on February 9, and the penalty charge will operate if payment is not made on or before March 1. The usual 21 days of grace are thus given. The demands will he posted on February 2. The third instalment of the general unemployment levy will become due on February 1, and must be paid within one month from that date. On the same date the second instalment of the emergency charge on two-thirds of income for the year ended March 31. 1931, falls due. It is expected that considerable hardship will be caused in the cases of many businesses and individuals who are in the receipt of greatly reduce dincomes, and are confronted with the payment of taxes assessed on what they earn'd in better times.
