HOTEL DESTROYED BY FIRE. £lO.OOO DAMAGE. (Received 25, 12.15 p.m.) Sydney, Jan. 25. Fire destroyed the Terminus Hotel, at Lismore. The damage is estimated at £lO,OOO. The occupants escaped in their night attire. DEATHS AS RESULT OF HEAT WAVE. (Received 25. 10.35 a.m.) Sydney, Jan. 25. Three more deaths are reported a& the result of Friday's heat wave—all old men, who collapsed and died in hospital.
EAST SYDNEY SEAT. (Received 25, 10.10 a.m.) „ T _ Sydney, Jan. 25. Mr. L Cunningham, former member of the House of Representatives, has been substituted for Mr. Coleman to contest the East Sydney seat. Mr. Coleman has been ordered a rest by his doctor. DISABILITIES UNDER FEDERATION. (Received 25. 10.30 a.m.) Adelaide, Jan. 25. The Premier, Mr. Hill, will shortly take steps to convene a conference between representatives of the South Australia. Western Australia and Tasmanian Governments, to discuss the disabilities suffered by those States under the Federation. Mr. Hill said there was no stability. Federal grants were made, but the disabilities remained. SEAMEN DEFY UNION’S ORDERS. (Received 25, 10.20 a.m.) Adelaide, Jan. 25. At Port Adelaide only a small steamer, Kapoola, is now idle. All others arc being worked by the seamen, who aro defying their union's orders.
