CHARLTON’S NEW 440 RECORD BREAKS STATIC AND AUSTRALIAN TIMES. Sydney, Jan. 24. At the State swimming championships at the Domain Baths, Sydney, the 440 yards championship resulted: A. Charlton I, N. Ryan 2, V. Besomo 3, Time, diniu. 55 2-ssecs., a State and Australian record. Ryan made a wonderful effort and was beaten by only two feet. The 100 yards championship resulted: (I. Phillips 1, A.
