ARMED HOLD-UP

POSTAL OFFICIALS ROBBED. PENSIONERS’ MONEY TAKEN. Sydney, Dec. 10. While two postal officials were transferring £9OO for pensions funds from the William street Post Office, Darlinghurst, to-day, two masked armed men bailed them up in a lane. They threw pepper in the victims’ eyes and stole all the money. They fired a shot and escaped through a block of flats. Two women witnesses were unable to render assistance. The money was being taken to a nearby church hall for the payment of old age and invalid pensioners, who went without for the time being.
