MEETINC OF EXECUTIVE. ARRANGEMENTS FOR RIBBON PARADE. A meeting of the executive of the Hawke’s Bay Kennel Association was held last evening in the H.B. A. and P. Society’s looms, Church Lane, Napier. Mr. G. B. Menzies presided. Leave of absence was granted Mrs T. V. Morrin and Mr. C. Briggs. On the motion of Mr. Wainscott, a ribbon parade will be held on Boxing Dav at McLean Park in conjunction with the Mardi Gras, the following committee being appointed to arrange the parade: Messrs Wainscott, Sheppard, Lavey, Hilliker, Gleeson, Broughton, Munro and Mrs McGaffin. A question was raised that Hastings and district fanciers had no place to leave their dogs after the parade, but the Mardi Gras committee advised that sufficient room will be marked off, with staples on the grounds, so that owners may staple their dogs during the day. Judges for the ribbon parade were appointed as follows: Sporting dogs, Mr. T. W. Munro; non-sporting, Toys, Alsatians, Terriers, Mr. J. B. Wainscott; stake classes, Messrs J. B. Wainscott, J. Gleeson, T. W. Munro. A resolution to the effect that the H.B. A. and P. Society hold a dog show at their autumn show was passed, and the following recommendations made: — (1) That prize money be 50 per cent, first, 25 per cent, second, 15 per cent, third, of entrance fees. (2) That entrance fees be 3/- for non-menibers and members. (3) That puppy, novice, limit and open classes be scheduled together with the usual children’s class. (4) That local judges be appointed. The following committee was appointed to go into the question of a gun dog trial: Messrs T. V. Morrin, 8. W. Baker, R. T. Cleary, Dr. G. J. Faulkner, T. W. Munro. It was decided to hold a picnic on February 14, 1932, and Messrs Cleary, F. Hilliker and A. E. Mills were appointed to arrange same. The evening concluded with a hearty vote of thanks to the chair.
